Dance Program

June Summer Starter (Ages: 4 & up)

Kick off the summer with our Summer Starter program designed for both new and returning students! These classes offer the perfect opportunity to explore a variety of styles or continue your journey with us! All classes are $25 each (+HST).

• Saturday, June 8: 10am - 10:45am - Jazz for ages 4-6

• Saturday, June 8: 10:45am - 11:30am - Jazz for ages 7-10

• Monday, June 10: 6pm - 7pm - Jazz & Contemporary for ages 9-12

• Monday, June 10: 7pm - 8pm - Jazz & Contemporary for ages 13 & up

• Thursday, June 13: 6pm - 7pm - Ballet & Folk Dance for ages 9-12

• Thursday, June 13: 7pm - 8pm - Ballet & Folk Dance for ages 13 & up

• Saturday, June 15: 10am - 10:45am - Ballet for ages 4-6

• Saturday, June 15: 10:45am - 11:45am - Ballet for ages 7-10

Twinkle Twos (Ages: 2-3)

A fun introduction to ballet and movement incorporating song, mime, and props. Children are accompanied by a caregiver for each class. This class is appropriate for preschool children ages 2 to 3 yrs. The 7-week Spring session begins April 27, 2024.

30-minute classes: $175 +HST

Twinkle Threes (Ages: 3-4)

A fun introduction to ballet and movement incorporating song, mime, and props. A continuation of Twinkle Twos, this class is appropriate for preschool children ages 3 to 4 yrs. Children participate in the class independently. The 7-week Spring session begins April 27, 2024.

30-minute classes: $175 +HST

Ballet (Ages: 4 & up)

Following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, we introduce classical ballet technique through a lively mix of rhythm, movement, and expression. Students will explore and expand the concepts of creativity and memory, as well as developing partner and group skills in fun and creative ways. Tuition includes 30 weeks of classes, a recital costume, and a digital download of the recital.

Students ages 7 & up who are registered for two or more ballet classes have the opportunity to participate in Royal Academy of Dance class awards/exams.

45-minute classes (4 - 9yrs): $1,050 + HST
60-minute classes (9 yrs +): $1,110 + HST

Jazz & Hip Hop (Ages 4 & up)

Jazz and Hip Hop are dynamic and energetic styles that are often seen in Broadway shows and music videos. Music and choreography used in class will be modern and age-appropriate. Tuition includes 30 weeks of classes, a recital costume and digital download of the recital.

45-minute classes (4 - 9yrs): $1,050 + HST
60-minute classes (9 yrs +): $1,110 + HST

Contemporary (Ages 8 & up)

Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that combines elements of Jazz, Modern, and Ballet. Contemporary dance emphasizes the mind/body connection through fluid dance movements. We encourage Contemporary students to also enroll in Ballet or Jazz classes to support their training. Tuition includes 30 weeks of classes, a recital costume, and a digital download of the recital.

60-minute classes: $1,110 + HST

Pointe (Ages: 12 & up)

Pointe class will introduce the basics of pointe technique. Participation in Pointe classes is at the director's discretion. Students must also be registered in Teen Ballet. Tuition includes 30 weeks of classes.

30-minute classes: $630 + HST

Birthday Parties

Available Saturday afternoons from 1:30pm - 4:30pm. Contact us for more details!

Exams and Awards

Kennedy School of Dance offers Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Exams and Class Awards. This is an optional activity for Ballet students ages 7 & up to participate in at the teacher's discretion. Students must be registered for two ballet classes per week to be considered. Additional fees are required to participate.

PLEASE NOTE:

For all classes, students must be the minimum age by December 31, 2023.

It’s strongly recommended that students ages 6 and up register for two dance classes per week. Additional classes will be added where necessary - contact the director for more details.
