Twinkle Twos (ages: 2-3)

A fun introduction to ballet and movement incorporating song, mime, and props. Children must be two years old by December 31, 2022 and be accompanied by one caregiver for each class.

Ballet (ages: 3 and up)

Following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, we introduce classical ballet technique through a lively mix of rhythm, movement, and expression. Students will explore and expand the concepts of creativity and memory, as well as developing partner and group skills in fun and creative ways.

Students ages 7 & up who are registered for two or more ballet classes have the opportunity to participate in Royal Academy of Dance class awards/exams.

Jazz & Hip Hop (ages: 3 and up)

Jazz and Hip Hop are dynamic and energetic styles that are often seen in Broadway shows and music videos. Music and choreography used in class will be modern and age appropriate.

Contemporary (ages: 8 & up)

Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that combines elements of Jazz, Modern and Ballet. Contemporary dance emphasizes the the mind/body connection through fluid dance movements. We encourage Contemporary students to also enroll in Ballet or Hip Hop classes to support their training.

Pointe (ages: 12 & up)

Pointe class will introduce the basics of pointe technique. Participation in Pointe classes is at the director's discretion. Students must also be registered in Teen Ballet.

Folk Dance (ages: 7 and up)

Explore the world of traditional European folk dance. British Isles, France, Italy, Russia, Greece and more! Vibrant, social and rhythmic & a fun way to learn about dance patterns, working in groups and exploring the cultural heritage of dance. An excellent compliment to ballet training.

R.A.D. Ballet Exams & Class Awards

Leaside Dance School offers Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Exams and Class Awards. This is an optional activity for Ballet students ages 7 & up to participate in at the teacher's discretion. Students must be registered for two ballet classes per week to be considered. Additional fees are required to participate.

NUTCRACKER

Leaside Dance School's production of The Nutcracker features excerpts from the famous ballet. Currently on hold until next season (Fall 2023).


For all classes, students must be the minimum age by December 31, 2022.
It is strongly recommended that students ages 6 and up register for two dance classes per week.
Additional classes will be added where necessary - contact the director for more details.
