About the School

Leaside Dance School provides a high quality dance education in a local, neighbourhood setting. Proudly serving neighbourhoods including Leaside, Lawrence Park, Davisville, East York and North York since 2010. We emphasize personal development, musicality, and exercise, in a fun and supportive environment. Our students are nurtured in a non-competitive atmosphere where the primary focus is learning the art of dance. Performance skills are developed over the year, culminating in our year end recital. Personal attention is ensured with our smaller class sizes and qualified teachers and assistants. We offer classes at two convenient locations: St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, and Lawrence Park Community Church. Both locations are fully accessible and feature comfortable waiting areas, viewing windows, as well as free parking.

About the Director

Erin Kennedy TTP-Dip. (NBS), RAD Teaching Dip., A.I.S.T.D.

Erin Kennedy is the founder of Leaside Dance School and a graduate of the National Ballet School of Canada's Teacher Training program. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Both of these credentials were awarded with Distinction. Erin has over 20 years of experience teaching dance from beginner to advanced levels and continually enhances her training by attending teachers courses and seminars.

About the Teachers


Hiba Harhash is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and has been accepted to the Masters of Dance Teaching program with the Royal Academy of Dance. She also earned her Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Dance Studies from London Contemporary Dance School, University of Kent. Hiba is a certified Stott Pilates instructor and has many years of teaching experience. Hiba will be teaching on Mondays and Thursdays at the St. Cuthbert's location.

Niky Johnson graduated with a Masters in Education from Medaille College and has over 15 years teaching experience to students of all ages. She has taught dance at some of Toronto's finest private and public schools and is excited to be teaching classes on Wednesdays again this year.

Mackenzie Little is a graduate of the National Ballet School of Canada's Teacher Training Program and is a registered Ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. She is currently enrolled in the BFA Dance program at York University. Mackenzie will be teaching ballet and contemporary on Tuesdays this season.

Alicia Nero is a registered teacher with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and holds her Associate Diplomas in Ballet, Modern, Stage/Tap and Acro. She graduated with a BFA in Dance from Ryerson University. Alicia will be teaching on Thursdays at the Lawrence Park location.

Angela Wells graduated with a BFA in Dance from York University and will be continuing her studies at York this year, pursuing a degree in education. She is also a licensed Zumba instructor. Angela will be teaching dance classes on Saturday mornings at the St. Cuthbert's location.

Anastasia Fischer is currently enrolled in the National Ballet School of Canada's Teacher Training Program. She has achieved the Advanced 2 level training with the Royal Academy of Dance (Ballet) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Modern and Tap). Anastasia will be teaching ballet on Saturdays at the Lawrence Park location.

Andrea Rojas is currently studying in the Professional Training Program at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. She is excited to be assisting ballet classes at Leaside Dance School on Saturday mornings this season. Andrea is bilingual in Spanish and English.
